An Alaska Mountain Snow Crab Smile Yesterday we began our quest for the elusive
Alaska snow crab, taking on a guide and heading
for the mountains, by coincidence quite near the
gold claim of our guide.
On arrival he asked his prospector mates the
location of the snow crab herds. While at first
reluctant to talk, after a few rounds from the
jug our guide always carries we were told
it would be best to hire an Alaskan taxi like
the one pictured up top and scout for the
crab herds high on the mountain. This we did
and soon discovered, as many have before,
that on this day the herds were hiding in
clouds beneath the summit, elusive as ever.
We're not giving up on this. As you read
this update we're coming up with plan "B".
