A South Pole Smile
In case you missed the news, June 21st
was met with celebration at America's
Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station.
It was winter hump day, marking the
start of the return to light as shown
in the station summertime picture above.
At the moment it's around -49'F with a
north wind chill at -88'F and the only
light is from the occasional spectacular
display of the southern lights.
